Daniel Sturridge shuts down rumours he has fallen out with Jurgen Klopp

With Daniel Sturridge being sent on loan for the second half of last season, rumours were circulating that Sturridge had fallen out with manager Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s other staff.

However, after one report was published on Twitter, Sturridge was quick to squash the rumours stated in said article.

Good spirits

As per his tweet, Sturridge seems to bear no ill will towards anybody at Liverpool FC as he even went so far as to wish them good luck in the Champions League final this Saturday vs Real Madrid.

This is slightly surprising given that Sturridge did seem quite unhappy at the start of the 2017/18 campaign. Plus, when Sturridge was loaned out, it was to struggling and now relegated West Brom.

More injuries

During his loan spell at West Brom Sturridge was once again kept on the sideline for a prolonged period of time due to injury.

This meant the Liverpool forward made just six appearances for The Baggies, only one of which was a start. This also meant any small hope Sturridge had of making the England World Cup squad went down the drain.

Sturridge’s future at Liverpool

Furthermore, while Sturridge doesn’t seem to hold any grudges towards anyone at Liverpool, it is hard to see his future lying on Merseyside.

While Sturridge was certainly a top Premier League striker several years ago, constant injuries have halted his career and as a result, he looks a shell of the player he once was.

Therefore, given the form of Liverpool’s current front three, it is very hard to see Sturridge ever working his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans. Especially if he continues to get injured several times a season.
